Almost a year ago Lexprompt released the first beta version of WRITE and has been silent since.
We’ve been silent for so long that some of our friends may have even forgotten what WRITE does. Lexprompt WRITE is writing software that lets users search and find content directly from MS Word. For example, as you type in a Word document, WRITE uses the words in the document as search terms to find relevant content from existing documents. The same action can be achieved by highlighting a portion of the Word document or by placing the cursor at the end of the text portion to be used as search terms.
While we’ve been silent, we were not idle. It took a year of hard work to complete the development—we fixed compatibility bugs, improved performance, changed the interface to improve user experience, and addressed suggestions and concerns from many of our beta users.
And of course, we’ve added new features to enhance usability.
For example, WRITE now includes a document viewer integrated with MS Word, which allows you to quickly view source documents without leaving Word. You can open multiple reference documents directly in the viewer and easily navigate among them as you work in Word.
The viewer pane can be reduced to move it out of the way of your work. But you can still see thumbnail sized pages of the documents and can select and copy any portion of the viewed document, even without expanding the viewing pane.
We’re now in the final phase of beta testing, and the software is essentially in its commercial release form. But we’re still making tweaks and improvements and want to hear from potential users—we want to know what you want to see in WRITE.
The current release is a closed beta, but we’re still accepting participation requests. So why should you apply? First, every participant will receive a Beta License that will allow you to use the software for at least six months for FREE. Second, select participants will receive a FREE Commercial License (unlimited use) with updates for 1 year.
